About the Watch Photo Awards

Your watch photo exhibited in a museum and/or at a watch fair and your recognized talent in the major specialised media!

International contest

The Watch Photo Awards are the first annual international watch photography competition open to amateur watch lovers and professionals alike. With a specific timing and a different theme, awards will be given to the photos that best meet the criteria of creativity, technical accomplishment and relevance to the theme.

Visibility in the major specialised media

Each month of the competition, the jury selects its ten favourite photos and publishes them. The public then vote for the one they think is the best, and the winner is awarded an exceptional prize of our partners. All the winning photos will be published by our media partners, as well as being featured in exhibition in Geneva, before travelling to other cities.

An exhibition at the Rath Museum of Geneva

On the occasion of the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève, the winning photographers will receive an invitation to attend the preview of the commemorative exhibition of 40 winning photos. In 2018 and 2019, the winning photos were exhibited at Baselworld, Dubai Watch Week and Watches & Wonders in Miami. The best photo of the year will be decided by a separate public vote. The winner will be awarded the WPA trophy, and will be invited to sit on the panel for the following year.

The 5 members of the jury

The jury will select the 10 best photos each month based on the criteria of creativity, technical accomplishment and relevance to the theme. The jury comprises six watch experts, appointed each year by the organisers.

The jury for the 2020 edition is composed of: Pierre-André Montjovet (watch collector, financier and globetrotter), Marie de Pimodan (Watch journalist), Sophie Furley (Photographer, videographer, and writer specializing in watches), Edouard Haegi (Watch photographer) and Brice Lechevalier (founder and editor-in-chief of GMT, director of WorldTempus).

Each year, the winner of the WPA becomes a jury member for the year after.
